No.90/2008 Explicit auction on NorNed
Nord Pool Spot has received the following information:
Statnett is applying for an extension of the licence for the current explicit auction on NorNed.
Statnett, TenneT and partners have studied possible solutions for market coupling based on implicit auction. European Market Coupling Company (EMCC) was selected to deliver market coupling services for NorNed. After start up 29 September 2008, EMCC unfortunately encountered problems resulting in a temporary suspension of EMCC until the first quarter of 2009. The result of this being that EMCC is not able to provide the NorNed market coupling as planned for 1 January 2009.
Statnett, TenneT and partners are striving to establish market coupling based on implicit auction on NorNed as soon as possible.
