No. 05/2010 NPS - Adjustments to the Nord Pool Spot trading fees


Nord Pool Spot has made some adjustments to the trading fees which will take effect from 1st February 2010.

Direct participants who only require access to Nord Pool Spot’s intra-day market Elbas, will be charged an annual fee of only € 10 000. The current annual fixed fee for direct participants of € 15 000 includes access to both the day-ahead market Elspot and the intra-day market Elbas and will remain unchanged.

Additionally, Nord Pool Spot introduces an annual view only license (observer admission) for access to the intra-day market Elbas of € 10 000.

Additional Elspot and Elbas tokens for login to the trading applications cost € 100. The cost of the first 2 tokens for login to the Elbas trading application and the first 2 tokens for login to the Elspot trading application are included in the fixed annual fee.

Five bidding areas introduced in Norway

From 15 March 2010 there are five bidding areas in Norway. The new area is established by Statnett due to the low reservoir content in western Norway and possible lack of energy. The new NO5 is a western area consisting of parts of the previous NO1 and NO2.
