Nord Pool Spot runs the leading power market in Europe and offers both day-ahead and intraday markets to its customers. 350 companies from 20 countries trade in the markets.
The Nord Pool Spot group has offices in Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Tallinn and London. In 2011 the group had a total turnover of 316 TWh, which includes the auction volume in the UK market N2EX. Total traded volume in 2011 represented a value of € 14.5 billion while group revenues are ca 150 million NOK.
Nord Pool Spot has a strong brand in the Nordic energy market and lives from the trust built up through many years reflected by a dominant position with around 75% market share in the Nordics. During the last years the company has started to grow into markets outside the Nordic region as a part of the European integration process of energy markets.
We are looking for a new CFO who can support the company’s future growth. The right candidate is an experienced finance professional with proven management skills and international exposure, while strategy- and M&A experience will be seen as further advantages. Experience from the energy or exchange trading business is also an advantage.
The CFO is responsible for the accounting, controlling, risk management, HR and administration departments of the Group. The function currently has 10 permanent employees based in Norway, Finland and Sweden.
The preferred candidate is motivated for both strategic and operational tasks and will contribute to the group’s continued expansion in the European market.
This will involve:
- Being responsible for the financial cycles of the company, hereunder financial statements as well as budget and forecast and any related analysis and target setting
- Leading the strategy development and support any structural activities
- Management of the clearing function and any required developments
- Ensuring timely progress on Finance and HR projects
- Leading the office management and HR functions of the group, including performance reviews, recruitments, target settings, HR policies etc.
The candidate must have good language skills and master English and one Scandinavian language both written and spoken. Our new CFO is a team player and a person with the ability to motivate and inspire peers and co-workers. He/she responds to the company’s values; “Together, with Integrity, towards Excellence”.
The CFO reports to the CEO and is a member of the management team. The position is located at the head office based in Oslo (Lysaker), Norway. Some travel must be expected.
